A room with no view

I think I’m developing a bit of an obsession with perforated steel plates… I suppose it is better than my original concept, which basically was JUST bare concrete everywhere.

So the idea here, is that the ceiling has a 60cm wide “rain” shower head, so you can just rinse this concrete pit without anyone having to crawl into it to do so.

It also washes the occupant, I suppose? The drain might be too small, I’m not entirely sure.

The narrow window is covered with two layers of perforated steel, so you literally can’t reach out (or in) at all. I’ve also rounded most of the corners with a 45° step to give it more of that “poured concrete” feel.

A new Froznovia excerpt

There is a new chapter of Froznovia on the Patreon: The Wing of an Angel.

I’ve made some light revisions to the introduction, a little cleaner, a little more detail.

Chronologically, “The Wing of an Angel” happens years before the Froznovia introduction. My writing is a mess, but I must continue.

  • Yardley Footman:

The view is so obstructed, there’s no point in putting a metal door over it. I guess that could cut off what little light there is, but that would mean actually caring the slightest amount about the occupant.

The drain isn’t too small if the shower is short enough. A few inches of water taking a few minutes to drain away rinses the entire floor.

  • Hmhm, it is ventilation, if anything.
