Kommandant’s Notice

Enjoying your time in Cell Block D‑5? Good. Don’t let it go to your head.
If you’d like to earn a few theoretical privileges (we don’t really grant privileges in here), you may submit the following tributes:

• Patreon – A modest contribution to the Kommandant’s retirement fund.

• Throne – Material offerings. Snacks, trinkets, something more?

• In Cell Block D-5 – Why not make a little tribute on the Kommandant’s portrait.

What you get in return? Absolutely nothing. No special treatment, no secret feature. Just my genuine, slightly smug gratitude.

The Protektorate

The Protektor Role (privilege and abuse)

• Padlock cell doors (look for the padlock recess).
• Respawn yourself from inside a cell (you have the keys after all).
• Switch handcuff mode.
• Remove all handcuffs (yours or theirs).
• Sole command of the propaganda broadcast console (music & videos).
• The role is free for the taking – if it hasn’t been locked, anyone can become Protektor.

Shift Change

A Protektor no longer serves indefinitely by mere presence. At the end of every cycle (Zyklus), a “Protektor shift change” occurs.

• The buzzer rings, marking the end of the last cycle.
• The Protektor role is unlocked.
• Anyone wanting to take the next shift can click the card reader and assume control, anonymously.
• 100 seconds later, the buzzer rings a second time to mark the start of the new cycle.
• The new on-duty Protektor’s name is revealed.

When the current Protektor leaves, the role jumps to someone else. The throne must be filled.

So you survived the shift change? Good for you. The Häftlinge must really love you. Give yourself a pat on the back and get back to work, Protektor.

NOTE: The shift change window is for VR users only. Non-VR users can still become Protektor the normal way.

Cells and Doors

• Cell doors can only be operated from the outside, or when the center hatch is open.
• If the Protektor padlocks a door, it cannot be opened. At all.
• Cells are designed to prevent respawning, rejoining, or physics/seat escapes. Don’t even bother.
• The padded cells and ISO-1 are soundproofed.
• A few cells have been ‘upgraded’ with TV screens. Enjoy the programming.

Handcuffs

• If you’re cuffed, your screen will be blocked, unless your avatar’s wrists are actually inside the cuffs.
• GREEN: Removable by anyone except the wearer.
• RED/ORANGE: Restricted to the on-duty Protektor.
• As Protektor, hold a pair of cuffs and press the trigger to toggle between public and Protektor‑only mode.
• Desktop users: You cannot be cuffed. Enjoy your… “Diplomatic Immunity”. You also can’t cuff anyone else, unless you’re the Protektor.
• Rejoining, respawning (or other methods) will not free you. We thought of that.

Bowls (is it even food?)

• Spawn food bowls at the guard table.
• If there are already 6 bowls on the map, a ghost image marks the bowl spawn location.
• To remove a bowl, drop it on the bowl spawner.
• Change contents by holding the bowl over the spawn point and pressing the trigger.
  Selection varies. Don’t ask.

Clipboards

Two clipboards are available for RP.

• One contains prisoner case files: Häftlinge from the Froznovia lore, and some people the Protektor Kommandant wants to keep an eye on.
• The other contains blank forms: equipment requisition, punishment report, interrogation report, transfer form, and a blank prisoner file.
