The KDC Morgiana Neck Shackle is released!

Morgiana Neck Shackle - store product picture
All done! The Morgiana Neck Shackle (it is a collar, yes) is out, right before pride month too.

I’ve included 3 simple variations:

  • Studded outside with blunt spikes on the inside.
  • Plain.
  • (just added) Plain, but with blunt spikes on the inside.

It is a great fit with the rest of the Morgiana set and I think the studs add some much-needed contrast, but you still get the option of having wrists ankles & neck fully matched if you so desire. And I just liked the idea of inner blunt spikes as a “gentle incentive to comply”.

As usual, you can grab it from my little shop on the Second Life Marketplace, or from the KDC Main Store (for 10% Off). Enjoy ^^!

New release! The Morgiana Wrist Shackles!

The Morgiana Wrist Shackles are out!

I hope this will reassure those who wondered if the ankle shackle set was just a one-off ^_^.

I’ve thrown in a small variant as a simple way to include the chain links to the package and show that these too, have optional bows on their surface (if you want to do something with them, because I did not).

As with the ankle set: Fully modifiable, PBR materials (no fallback), and chain sounds: I had to include the sound effects, but they are only used when you use the wrist to ankle binding.

As usual, you can pick these from the KDC Main Store (10%off!) or from the Second Life Marketplace. Enjoy :3

New release! The Morgiana Ankle Shackles!

KDC Morgiana Ankle Shackles product release.
The Morgiana Ankle Shackles are finally released!

This plain and hard-wearing design comes from our KDC branch in the sun bleached city-state of Qishan.

Due to limited access to quality steel and tooling, we had to be a bit creative and came up with a simple weld-free design that could be produced quickly on standard forge equipment.

Each cuff weighs more than half a kilo and features hand-forged rings & chain links with minimal finishing to keep product turnout high enough for the local slave trade. Despite the questionable raw material quality, it is more than enough to keep even the strongest tribes subdued.

A variant is also provided with a permanently attached section of chain running under the heel to keep these dancers light on their feet. (to be used with tiptoe mesh feet, some hand adjustment may be required between mesh bodies).

These are fully modifiable, use PBR materials (no fallback), and custom-made sound effects, such as chain rattling when the cuffs are chained together. (I spent an absurd amount of time recording these sounds).

As usual, you can pick these from the KDC Main Store (10%off!) or from the Second Life Marketplace. Enjoy :3

Learning new tricks

Learning new tricks - Side by side view of UVmap editing through non-destructive modifiers on character's body.
After several around of experimentation, I feel that I am learning new tricks to add to my Blender skills. It appears that you can use the “UV Warp” modifier to manipulate texture UVs after a mirror modifier, without having to apply the mirror modifier (I prefer working in symmetry whenever possible).

In this quick example, the body of my character has a full central symmetry, including all the texture UVs, but I was able to select the UVs of the right arm and offset them to make the tattoos vanish, without touching the left arm of the pelvis. And likewise, the doodle on the belly rather than mirroring at the center is “unfolded” into a left & right half.

I know; This is really easy to do “by hand” if you apply the model’s mirror modifier, but the entire point of the exercise was to avoid doing so, and to see what kind of Texture UV operations are possible using non-destructive modifiers.

… Success?

Morgiana shackles progress

I spent some time on a bit of “feature creep”…

That’s just a concept I’ve always liked: forcing the wearer to walk on tip toes by having a section of chain wrapped under their feet. I played with a few ideas, but given that this can’t be weight painted (rigged) without getting some terrible deformations, the best I can probably do is to include it as a variant to the ankle cuffs, extra anchor bows on the cuff surface, and a few sections of chain (1,2,3 links maybe?) as well as an animation to freeze the foot position.

I will most likely make one for my Ai High-feet, but it should be easy to adapt to just about any “tiptoe” feet on the market, with a little bit of in-world editing.

Product updates

I’m pushing yet another update to the Meat Market Collar & Cuff set!

  • A bug slipped in during the last round of updates, causing locks and chains on the mobile shackle to remain once the shackle has been removed.
  • The collar had some clicking issues, the usual “object changes sometimes not sticking” once I put them back into my inventory, hopefully it will stick this time.

Vergilius Collar & Cuffs now available for VRChat!

Having a video did so well last time (for the stunprod), sooo… I made another one for the Vergilius set. It’s… a bit questionable? We’ll see if booth ends up removing it, but it does make me wish that I could record some smooth VR choreography… I digress.

It is a fairly simple product feature-wise, I tried to build upon the prisoner shackle set and included a pre-made animator setup to show/hide the different cuff groups, saves you from making your own. Personally? I don’t use the included menu, I just have my clothes toggle the cuffs on/off directly to prevent clipping.

I also added a Poiyomi material set in addition to the standard shader setup and a couple more variants to save you from having to import the cuff set in Blender.

It isn’t made for any specific avatar in mind but unless you need to do something very specific, the ModularAvatar setup should get you sorted. Oh and if you want the locks to be smaller or the ring shackles to be bigger, you can just resize those bones in Unity, no fuss.

As usual for VRChat assets, head over to booth.pm if interested. Do message me on booth if you have issues/suggestions related to it.

Looking for the Second Life version? head over here.

Multiple wrist cuff update

Another one, I know. I’ve made a mistake during the initial rollout and there is a couple animations missing in the following sets:

I wasn’t gonna be able to work today but my trip has been cancelled, so there is that.

Pishock and Openshock support anyone?

A couple more updates to mention for today:

I’m working on a bit of a weird update, which I really should have done a long time ago: I’m adding support for OpenShock (and also for Pishock) to the KDC Shock Collar. Now, I understand this is definitely not for everyone, but I figured that if any of my products should have suck a gimmick, this should definitely be the one :3

Two more cuff sets are up to date

Another batch of updates hitting you all, sorry again >_>

More updates? Yup.

Another little batch of updates:

I want to start something new based on the game “Beyond Citadel”. It might be the next project, or maybe not.

Ai Basic Leather Set update! And more.

Another round of updates, this time focused on the set I’ve made in collaboration with Artificial Incarnation, the Ai Basic Leather set, check here if you are interested in this set.

Other than the usual covered in previous posts, it brings the thigh cuffs up to speed with what my other sets provide, namely chain-able inner and outer point along with suspensions.

I’ve also updated one of my all-time favorites: KDC Classic Leather Collar.
