Hired Help Uniform patch redux

A couple of days ago I’ve pushed out a small patch for the hired help uniform… Or so I thought.

Turns out SL reverted the new items that I had placed in the update server so I had to redo it today. Fixed this time, hopefully.

KDC Bun Covers are out!

BunCovers

So I am told this is the first time that I make something “normal” 😛

Or at least it has been a while I guess.

These should work on essentially any avatar and the ribbons can be adjusted separately if you need to. Making the HUD took most of yesterday so I hope you guys are happy with it!

As usual, you can get these from the KDC Main shop, or from the SecondLife Marketplace.

Enjoy!

This is why you should care about optimization.

High poly version: ~80000 triangles.

Low poly version: 1965 triangles.

Sometimes I feel like a broken record. I’m pretty sure there is quite a few scumbags out there who upload things like my high poly and call it a day.

Rebuilding, refining, optimizing

I’m suffering from a rather nasty cold/allergy for the past couple of days, thanks to the great weather we’ve been having here: Between “searing sahara” and “british blues”.

I spent a good amount of last night rebuilding the high polygon model to get a more consistent connection with the edge piping, also because my first attempt at optimizing it felt like a waste of time.

The results on the high poly model are great, the seams are a lot sharper and consistent.

For the low poly I’ve been using a method of preserving contours at the expense of interior surfaces that you might have seen on the gas mask posts. Well in this case I am not entirely convinced by the results, I’m gonna have to do a quick normal mapping test to check if it’s going to work regardless. If all fail, the edge trim is still good regardless.

But hey it’s under 2000 triangles… Which will surely ramp up once I add the ribbons…

KDC/Ai Basic Leather Armbinder is out!

And another great collaboration with my friend Asami!

AI-Armbinder

It features your standard TouchBound locking/unlocking, a selection of leather textures for the monoglove and straps and two leashing points, one at the glove end and one on the harness between the clavicles.

As usual, you can pick it up from the KDC Main Shop, the SecondLife Marketplace, the AI Main store.

LPM Work

Fabrics and ruffles are what I would consider one of my weaker points in low polygon modeling, we will see how this turns out once completed.

Making something cute

Bun covers are cute and underrated, so I am making a set of them.

The optimized model is going to be tricky with those ribbons and frills, but so worth doing.

Wasp gasmask v10: the Avatar 2.0 update

I’ve just released a small update for the KDC Wasp gasmask matte edition & KDC Wasp gasmask latex edition.

waspshot

They now ship with an alternate version that has been reshaped to fit the default heads on Utilizator’s Avatar 2.0 mesh bodies.

It’s patch time again!

I’m deploying a patch to fix a bug that was discovered in how RLV is handled by the TouchBound products. The only products affected are the ones that have multi-leash capability (the ability to draw more than one chain).

At the same time, I’m patching the updater to be more practical for users ( you shouldn’t have to manually reset it anymore! )

The following products have already been updated:

  • KDC Lined chrome collar.
  • KDC/ER Chrome collar.
  • KDC Classic leather posture collar.
  • KDC Chastity belt.
  • KDC HeavyMetal collar.
  • KDC Classic shock collar.
  • KDC Strict leather braced collar.
  • KDC Tasanee collar.
  • KDC Lined chrome thighs bands.
  • All KDC Ponyplay bits.
